Asserting the role of women in developing relations between countries, Suzanne Abou-Awf, an assistant professor at the English Department, Helwan University south of Cairo,

has succeeded in arranging the first Egyptian event to be held in autumn in collaboration with Marco Conceicao at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto in Portugal. The aim of the event is to acquaint the Portuguese people with ancient and modern Egyptian civilisation and culture, Egyptian women and folklore.This is the second Egyptian event Dr. Suzanne organises in Portugal this year and the third she organises in Europe in less than 18 months. Dr. Suzanne was invited to Portugal last March as the keynote speaker in an international conference of education in which 16 European Union countries, Canada and US participated.
